SPECIES

here are some general guidelines for the species around here. if it's not listed, it's flexible. what's written here is what is set in stone.
vampires - To be turned - a person needs to have ingested vampire blood and then die/be killed from their mortal death. Generally this means a vampire is going to drain them of all their mortal blood to kill them
- Never drink blood from the dead; it's toxic.
- Dead man's blood can reduce the vampire curse, but ONLY IF the person has been bitten but not yet fed.
- Weaknesses are wooden stakes, fire, and sunlight. To go into sunlight, vampires need to have something enchanted to allow them to do so or they need to be covered in a hood/protective clothing. Any other specific weaknesses is dependent on your personal character. Beheading will also kill.
- Possess abilities of speed and are extremely poised and agile.
- Vampires feel a bond, whether or not they want to, with the person that turned them...known as their sire.
- Very dignified and noble-like.
- Most vampires[not the newbies] have the ability of compulsion. Compulsion is like hypnotism and can be done via gaze or a scent that's alluring.
wiccans/gifted beings
This is a very broad category so I will not set a lot of limits with this. Wiccans include witches, warlocks, wizards, etc. A few examples would be: healers, potion masters, necromancers, shamans, seers, etc. Wiccans ARE technically mortals with gifts. Some live regular lives and all are susceptible to all human forms of death unless they are powerful to protect themselves against magic. Wiccans also do age and die, again, unless they are powerful enough to enchant themselves otherwise. In the wiccan category is whitelighters. Whitelighters are wiccans who are given special healing abilities. They are more or less the counterpart to demons as they are pure and want to help people. No matter the injury, whitelighters can heal it so long as the person is still alive.
hunters/mortals
every supernatural being sees mortals as the inferior race and in many cases they are. mortals can look like absolutely anything and are the weakest of all species. mortals tend to get caught up in their emotions more so than the supernatural and sometimes it leads to their demise. as the supernatural see it, mortals are ignorant and incompetent which is why they tend to be a prime target. they are targeted by all three of the supernatural species seeing as they are easily manipulated. they can be easily killed and while they can fall in love with a supernatural being, procreation of any sort is impossible. there are a few mortals who are completely aware of the supernatural world. these mortals either had a run-in with something evil or are known as hunters. hunters use whatever possible to eliminate the supernatural races. how boring, eh?
demons Demons can come in many different shapes, forms, etc so you are free to choose what your demon can do. Demons include, reapers, shifters, djinn, incubus/succubus, etc. However, they must follow the few simple guidelines.
- Demons are are created through demonic reproduction, OR were once living humans who sold their souls to the devil.
- Demon weaknesses include crucifixes, holy relics, and holy water. Devil’s traps will bind them. Exorcism is the only thing that will rid them of this world though technically, it does not kill them, it only sends them back to hell.
- In demonic form, demons are ugly black beings with horns and leathery wings. However, demons have the ability to possess bodies or shapeshift which makes them blend in with the rest of the population.
hybrids Hybrids are the result of two separate species that have procreated. They are weaker than pure bloods but take on two attributes of either species they are created from.
headless horseman
the headless horseman is the most dangerous supernatural being in all of sleepy hollow. he is straight from hell and a loyal servant to satan himself. vampires, wiccans, demons, and mortals are all susceptible to the wrath of the horseman. he is a tall figure (headless, of course) that nears seven feet in height. when getting a close view of him, you will notice that the flesh where his neck should be is always bleeding, as though it has never rotted. then again, not many get too close to him and live to tell about it. the horseman can always be found wearing a cloak, the same one that he died in. he carries either a single sword or an axe to accompany it, both of which have lobbed off their fair share of heads. the horseman is carried by a black steed who is faster than any living horse (he is dead, as the horseman is) on the earth. with the aid of his black horse and his weapons of choice, the headless horseman can kill whoever he wishes. he used to be controlled by a wiccan but now he runs free with no source of instruction – in search of the head that was stolen. the horseman is a no player account that will go around occasionally reeking havoc.
