you could say that beau has lived a rather brutal life. the hallucinations started when he was around five, witnessing a monstrous creature that would often come to him at night. the first time he mentioned this to his mother, she claimed that her son had the devil in him. not wanting to attract any attention to the family, his mother took matters into her own hands. the 'cleansing' occurred routinely, to which she would submerge beau in their tub, only pulling him up after he lost consciousness. thanks to her treatment, beau suffered from a severe case of aquaphobia. beau sold his soul when he was fifteen, in exchange for his sister's protection. after doing so, he murdered both his mother and father. he drowned his mother, while dismembering his father, after finding out that the man had repeatedly raped beau's sister. long story short: he was tossed into a loony bin, and underwent a variety of treatments in order to cure his schizophrenia. from hydrotherapy, shock therapy, all the way to a nasty lobotomy. he lost most of his memories during the process, even forgetting the most important person in his life: his sister. in the end, beau caused a riot among the patients, using his talents over insanity. it was a massacre. he can't remember dying, or being sent to hell. honestly, he doesn't know much about his past, aside from random glimpses every now and again. now, he's working as a street performer, a magician of sorts. they call him the sleight of hand, though in reality he's merely robbing poor folks as his illusions consume them.

marty rodrigo sewell

marty was born due to an unfortunate situation. the child was a product of prostitution, his mother having been a club whore at the time. above all else, the woman was a junkie, sentencing her young boy to a doomed fate before he even had a chance. marty came into the world with a variety of problems, the most notable being neonatal abstinence syndrome and hypoglycemia. the gang's old ladies took care of him for the most part, though marty suffered from neglect. the infant was found by allaric sewell, having been stumbled upon after the gang he belonged to was gunned down. allaric took him in, treating marty was if he were the man's true-born son. his childhood was not an easy one, the kid was constantly getting himself into trouble. the authorities got to know him quite well, showing up at allaric's doorstep at all hours of the night. for the longest time, marty has felt as if he doesn't belong, like the black sheep of his family. recently, he was cornered by one of their rival gangs, beaten bloody before he was turned into a monster. since then he's been convinced to work against his own family, spilling information to their enemy. suicide is an ongoing thought, completely overwhelmed with guilt and betrayal. like fate, marty has found his way back into the arms of heroin. though, no drug on this earth will be enough to chase his demons away.

jack edward dillinger

jack was born in virginia, back in 1905. he was the first child, following shortly after were his two brothers. coming from humble beginnings, the dillinger family owned a farm, all while running an inn. they hit a financial situation when the prohibition came around, rendering them in desperate need. that's around the time that jack's father started up the bootlegging business, knowing that the virginia civilians would be craving the sweet nectar. jack was roped into helping his father first, and eventually his brother began tagging along. jack took over the moonshine business after the death of his parents, being that their house was burned to the ground by hunters. the dillinger boys did seek out revenge, but it came with a price. years later, jack was attacked, his throat slit from one side to the other. but, he survived, the whole event only making him stronger in the end. jack was left with nothing but a nasty scar, a constant reminder of his past. once the prohibition came to an end, the boys moved onto other means of cash, turning to the production and distribution of illegal narcotics. as for love, jack has only ever felt that emotion once in his 110 years. she had been working for him, her death coming at the hands of the one man she trusted most. it was an accident, due to her sneaking up behind the male. it sparked jack's electrokinesis, which basically fried the poor girl. he hasn't used the ability since, and refuses to inflict that much pain onto another. after a rocky start in adjusting to the new world, the dillingers have re-established themselves in sleepy hollow, opening up a bar all while continuing on with the drug trade.

elijah otho corvus

elijah was sold into slavery at the young age of nine, eventually winding up as a gladiator. he won each battle, up until his very last. after greeting death, he was brought back and turned into a vampire by anthony, his current 'master'. once again, elijah was forced into imprisonment. the vampire coven had found a way to recreate the ancient roman games that he was all too familiar with, leaving elijah with no choice but to compete. due to the sire bond between himself and anthony, he had little control over anything. soon enough, he was appointed a higher role: a bodyguard and bounty hunter of sorts. if any of the slaves were to try and run free, it was elijah's job to bring them back. he has since been sent on a mission to retrieve one of anthony's most prized possessions, his only reason for being in new york. now, that task is proving to be far more difficult than anticipated. despite having blocked his emotions long ago, this girl has a way of bringing them back out. elijah is internally struggling against his sire bond, and saving someone that he secretly has feelings for. the harder he fights the bond, the more pain that's inflicted.
