SPECIES wiccan [hunter].
SPECIAL ABILITIES, POWERS, ETC. RESURGENCE ;; this is an extremely complicated ability, and jace doesn't use it lightly. in fact, he tends to stay clear of it all together. basically, resurgence is the act of resurrection. in other words: he can bring people back from the dead. however, this always comes with a price. the balance can never be thrown off, nor can death be cheated. in order to bring someone back, another has to die. whether it be someone on the opposite side of the world, or within the same city. there's no telling who fate chooses. at least, that's how the ability works for jace. now, the longer said individual has been gone, the harder it is to bring them back. once their soul has settled and truly found peace, it cannot be reattached to its host. with that being said, there is a chance that they could be brought back to life with no soul. because of this ability, he can also sense when death is near/someone's dying.
FEAR IMPRISONMENT ;; this works sort of like a nightmare. jace can send an individual into a deep sleep-like hallucination, bringing forth their worst fears in the form of a dream. he has no control over said fears, they are subconsciously chosen by the target. he can, however, place himself within their minds during this process. the only way to get out would either be with his assistance, or facing the fear in place and finding a way through it.
PRECISION ;; jace has spot-on aim. literally. the male could close his eyes, yet still hit his target. this ability comes in handy with combat, and overall training. however, he's never let this gift slip out. it would complicate things if others were to know, especially the enemies within his own group.

HISTORY ;;he was born nikolai petrov, a beautiful baby boy blessed to both elena and mikhail. sofia, bulgaria was where they called home. the couple had lived there for quite some time, well over a few hundred years. ah, yes. i supposed you're wondering how that could possible? see, elena and mikhail weren't your average mortals. in fact, they were rather powerful wiccans. elena was gifted in healing, most referred to her as a whitelighter. mikhail, well, he dabbled in other things. despite the love they had for one another, it wasn't always so easy. aside from being wiccans, they were also hunters. it may seem like an odd mixture, being that they were basically from the supernatural world. regardless, they were both given the determination to rid the world of its demonic inhabitants. before they were joined together, elena and mikhail were unknown enemies. having been hot on each other's trails, they had intentions of hunting the other down. there were no lines drawn back then, no grey area. it was simply black or white. you were either mortal, or a monster. there was no in-between.
in a savage race of elimination, they spent days trying to kill each other. however, they ended up doing the exact opposite. after a pretty dramatic gun-fight, they called a temporary truce, both wounded in some matter. waving their metaphorical white flags, they managed to share a meal together. let's just say that it was an odd night. elena admired the man's determination, just as mikhail praised her skills. from then on, a mutual understanding was formed. what was the point in hunting their own kind? for the most part, wiccans were nothing more than humans with gifts. they weren't hurting anyone, so where was the threat? they came to an agreement: so long as the wiccan community used their abilities for good and not evil, they would be viewed as equals. the real danger rested with the demons and vampires, the two plagues that swept across the earth. rather than go their separate ways, elena and mikhail joined forces. they were more powerful together.
despite their growing bond, children were never part of the plan. when elena found out about her pregnancy, she confronted mikhail, explaining that she wanted a break from it all. how could they be expected to raise a child within such a toxic environment? the fact that they were hunters alone placed a major target on their backs. they weren't going to endanger their unborn child. it was easy at first: packing away all the weapons and leaving that life behind. however, the instincts of a hunter never truly fade. they both felt the need to jump back in multiple times, nikolai being the only reason that they refused the urges. it was an intelligent decision, because another blessing came two years later, in the form of a baby girl. denica was always so full of light, a child that could never be bothered by the negativity of others. being in her presence was much like standing beneath the sun: filling you with a sensation of warmth and contentment. denica was truly a gift from the heavens above.
nikolai was never formally introduced to his abilities. to be honest, mikhail was hoping that it would have skipped the next generation, leaving his children with pure blood. by no means was the man against wiccans, it just wasn't something that he wished on his kids. nikolai was around six years old when his powers first broke through without warning. he had been playing outside with denica, chasing his little sister around the yard. stopping abruptly, denica stumbled toward their oak tree, dropping to her knees as she cradled something within her arms. approaching the scene, nikolai knelt by her side, eyes falling upon the little bird she had found. tears streaked the young child's cheeks as she looked to her brother, a helpless expression painting across her face. without fully realizing his actions, nikolai took the bird from denica, holding the fragile being within his hands. it was like a natural reaction, buried instincts pushing through the surface. tiny chirping broke the silence, the previously lifeless bird immediately taking flight. with eyes widening at what he had done, nikolai glanced to his sister, placing a finger to his lips. denica merely giggled with a nod, jumping to her feet as she began to run again. despite wanting to tell his parents, there was something inside of nikolai saying otherwise. what he had done, it wasn't right.
elena and mikhail tried their hardest to steer clear of the supernatural world, but the past always has a way of catching up. the couple had made plenty of enemies during their years of hunting, enemies that managed to resurface. they came in the dead of night, vampires seeking revenge. calling out to little denica, they lured the child outside, sending her into a trance-like state. there were no screams, no signs of disturbance. when mikhail awoke the next morning, he noticed the front door open. horror washed over his features the very second he stumbled upon her body, dropping to his knees as he held his baby girl. elena ran outside as she heard her husband's cries, pain clawing at her heart, falling beside the two in a broken mess. elena struggled for days to bring her baby girl back, though her abilities would not allow it. mikhail was emotionless at that point, beginning to dig the earth up in their back yard, focused on making a proper burial for his precious daughter. denica's skin was a pale white, every sign of life drained away. nikolai never meant to hurt anyone... something inside of him took over that night. shaking hands gently cupped her cold cheeks, eyes closing as energy flowed through his veins. time stood still, yet it felt like hours. growing increasingly weak, nikolai eventually collapsed.
he awoke in his mother's arms. elena looked as if she hadn't slept in days, color flushed from her cheeks. her hands were shaking, eyes glued across the room. there, seated on her father's lap was denica. aside from the paleness of her skin, she appeared to be normal. alive. for what seemed like hours, they questioned their son. it wasn't possible. still, denica was proof that nikolai possessed a unique set of powers. after getting over the initial shock, elena and mikhail were overjoyed to have their little girl back. despite the unanswered questions and suspicion, they wanted to believe more than anything that she was back. eventually, denica regained the warm tone of her skin, all signs of death fading. things were normal again, if only for a short amount of time.
despite looking the same, denica was nothing more than a shell of who she used to be. no one noticed at first, maybe that was because they didn't want to see it. there were no emotions present in the girl, no brightness in her eyes. nikolai had brought her back to life, but she was missing a key aspect of herself. denica no longer possessed a soul. it became evident when she returned home one day from playing outside with the other children of their neighborhood, blood covering her yellow dress. screams were heard from outside, the tormented cries of a parent who had just lost everything. elena and mikhail were overwhelmed with what had happened, refusing to think of their little girl as a murderer, even if the evidence was right before their eyes. despite being able to cover denica's tracks, things only managed to get worse. there was just no reasoning with the child they once knew, no signs of remorse in her eyes. their daughter was gone. knowing that they could no longer protect the monster created, mikhail was forced to do the something he would never wish on his greatest enemy.
mikhail was never the same after that. killing your own child... there was no coming back from that. he made sure to bury her body in a deep grave, filling the hole alone. he sat down later that night with elena, both of them making nikolai swear that he would never use his abilities again. they were conjured from the darkness, black magic that was forbidden. he promised, but the couple knew it would never be enough. it was a dangerous world, and all they wanted was for their remaining child to be protected. knowing that they would never be able to truly escape the life of a hunter, his parents chose to go through with a very difficult choice. they were going to ensure the survival of their baby, they were going to give him the life he deserved.
